New Staff Position(s)
It's becoming increasingly obvious to me that we have far more player demand for new quests that we can reasonably keep up with in anything resembling a timely manner. The reason for this is, in most part, the need to come up with quests/dialogue, and not the actual scripting and implementation (which takes about five seconds). We have a lot on our plate, so anything that requires creative effort on our part generally gets pushed to the bottom of the list (I can't speak for all staff, but I personally suck at coming up with decent quests and associated dialogue, as I am really NOT a creative writer).
With this in mind, I'm looking to hire a few people in a creative capacity, whose sole role will be to come up with custom quests and associated dialogue for the headgears and other items that you guys seem to clamour for non-stop. No scripting ability is required for this role (although it won't hurt) - basically, you just need a good imagination, a comprehensive knowledge of items available in game (to come up with appropriate quest requirements), and an ability to work quickly. You also need to be able to write in fluent English, in a grammatically/linguistically correct manner (I hope this is a given).
Once hired, I'll basically present you with headgears/items/bonuses for which you'll need to come up with a quest and associated NPC dialogue. Once assigned a task, you'll be given a framework to use, as well as a list of NPC IDs and any other tools necessary. If you'd like to learn to actually script the NPCs yourself, it is very easy - and I can also set you up with the basics of this. However, this isn't necessary; since the time it takes any of the current staff to knock out a basic quest script is single-digit minutes - unfortunately, it's the dialogue that's the hard part.
How to Apply?
Easy. Post in this area with three sample quests (you don't have to submit them all at the same time), applying the following structure:
CODENPC Name:
NPC Map:
NPC Co-ordinates:
Item Requirements (use format Item Name - Item ID - Quantity):
Special Requirements (for example, level or stat requirement):
Quest Formatting (sample "tags" to use for scenarios/NPC actions/player actions):
[NPC Name]
[ Dialogue ]
[ Menu - (Option1) - (Option2) .. ]
[Option1] : [Dialogue]
[Option2] : [Dialogue]
[Delete Item (ID),(Quantity)]
[Get Item (ID,Quantity)]
[Player Dialogue]
[Special Effect]
I've included some sample "tags" for you to use when formatting your NPC. Obviously I can't include a reference tag for every possible scenario, so just use your judgment and common sense (since tidy quest formatting is a pretty big plus here - the tidier the framework is, the easier it is for us to translate this to script format).
What Happens Next?
I'll be setting up a new hidden forum for any applicants chosen, in which I'll post a list of quests along with a framework to use for submission. From this, you'll pick one you'd like to do, assign yourself to it (you'll have mod powers in said forum), and make a new topic once it's complete with your quest and dialogue. From here, one of the staff members can pick it up and write a quick script at their leisure.
Hoping to read some good applications and get some nice new content for you guys. Good luck!

To add, if someone makes good quests for the following hats, I'll be sorting them out far faster, since they are already in pending:
I'll be going through this list through the week, and I'll be looking to add some by next maintenance.
- Anubis Hat
- Koneko Hat
- Rideword Hat
- Hunter Cap
- Little Angel Doll
I'll be going through this list through the week, and I'll be looking to add some by next maintenance.
Too busy to be around these days, sorry!
